Do you hear the alarm sounding? It's time for God's people to pray.

Our nation faces a serious crossroads. It is our most crucial hour. Please join us as we join forces with Christians throughout the world to ask for divine intervention.

The Intercessory Prayer Initiative was born out of a desire to recruit an army of prayer warriors who are willing to go to the front lines of today's spiritual battle. Christians from various streams and denominational backgrounds are putting aside their differences to unite around the agenda of Jesus Christ.

We are asking the Lord to bring His kingdom on earth, establish His government, empower His church, mobilize His people and scatter His enemies.

Will you join us in the battle?

Intercessory Prayer Initiative
PRAYER ALERT - 4/30/2009

Dear Prayer Warriors:

A few short weeks ago the Miss USA pageant was held in California and an openly gay judge asked a contestant about same sex marriage. She could have been politically correct and secured her crown. Instead she held to the biblical view of marriage being between a man and a woman. Her response sparked outrage among those who call themselves tolerant but are militant in their stance for the gay agenda. Is it now wrong to speak the truth because others disagree with your view? Has America ceased being a "Christian" nation? Some say it never was.

But Dutch Sheets reminded us of the historical truth regarding this nation "under God." Today is the anniversary of a powerful proclamation issued by Abraham Lincoln in 1863. Dutch is calling for Christians everywhere to download the entire proclamation, send it to friends and family, and read it out loud today and everyday through May 7, the National Day of Prayer. Let's agree together, take a stand against these false reports, proclaim the truth and declare the will of God over this nation again. We will see victory over the deception and wiles of the enemy. You can download the proclamation at www.dutchsheets.org.

Prayer Points

  • Pray that Christians will respond to Dutch's call for unity in declaring the proclamation called for by the then Senate and issued by President Lincoln.
  • That the truth about our Christian roots and heritage would be brought to light once again, and the mouths of those re-writing history silenced.
  • That there would be a concerted effort toward united prayer, fasting and true repentance for our nation, especially for the 7 days leading to May 7th.

As the Bible warns, nations will align themselves against Israel and will incur God's wrath. If America is to be blessed it must stand with Israel. Steve Strang serves as the Director for Region 6 of Florida for "Christians United for Israel." He encourages us to get the word out about Sunday, May 17, when 1,000 churches around the country will be having a "Christians United for Israel Sunday" and are encouraging their members to sign the "Israel Pledge" showing support for the state of Israel. God has promised a blessing to those who bless Israel. You can read and sign this pledge by going to http://www.cufi.org/site/Pageserver?pagename=standing_pledge.

Prayer Points

  • That churches will recognize their responsibility to align with God for His purpose concerning Israel, pray for its protection and stand for its defense.
  • For God's intervention on behalf of Israel, peaceful Palestinians and Christians living, working and ministering in the area.

Chuck Pierce recently shared a word calling for us to "get ready" for sudden change (see Charisma's Prophetic Insight, April 27). Subsequently, he gave an admonition to remove religious judgments for the Lord is contending on our behalf and is ready to move us into new avenues.

Prayer Points

  • Ask the Lord to help us repent and to remove religious judgments in us so that we would know and flow by His Holy Spirit and not by our emotions.
  • That the Lord would rearrange our thinking so that our faith could increase.
