Intercessory Prayer Initiative
PRAYER ALERT - 9/4/2009
Dear Prayer Warriors:
September is traditionally a pivotal month in that it marks the end of the summer season, ushers in both Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, completes the Islamic season of fasting known as Ramadan, and commemorates the terrorist attacks on our nation back in 2001. This year we are facing new challenges, not the least of which is a warning of possible terrorism against our nation, and particularly in the state of Florida.
Heeding a warning which Cindy Jacobs recently gave concerning Florida, Ken Malone and Martha Lucia, two prayer leaders for the state are partnering together to lead intercessors on a strategic prayer mission this weekend in Tampa. Prayer Points
- Pray for God’s strategies to be revealed as they move into this spiritual warfare.
- Pray through the state, using a map, and declare terrorism assignments thwarted.
- Cover the leaders and worship teams as they pray at various sites.
- Pray through the weekend in your own prayer groups and churches.
The scriptures are clear that we should pray for those in authority over us. The words written by Paul to Timothy were sent during the Roman Empire’s very oppressive and pagan rule. Yet, the church was admonished to pray for the leaders so that they would lead a peaceable life, and men would come to the knowledge of the truth and be saved (see 1 Tim. 2:1-4). With that in mind, we must continue to pray for our elected and appointed officials while making every effort to reach our generation with the gospel and expand God’s kingdom.
Prayer Points
- Pray that the church will remember and abide by God’s mandate to speak the truth in love, win the lost, make disciples and expand His kingdom.
- Bind the spirits of deception, religion and perversion that have infiltrated some of our churches so that true repentance and revival will spread across the land.
- That God’s kingdom would then expand into all facets of our civic life.
- That genuine conviction will come to our leaders so that the unrighteous laws previously passed or ones presently conceived would be reversed.
All of creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God (Rom. 8:19) and the return of our Lord. In the meantime, the enemy has been busy infiltrating every fabric of society and wreaking havoc across the nations knowing that his time is short. Seducing spirits are luring the hearts of men toward pagan and antichrist religions while deceiving many into thinking the Judeo-Christian world-view is the enemy of freedom. This is evident even in the current administration when the National Day of Prayer was ignored and Ramadan is being extolled. We must be vigilant to do the work of the ministry and declare God’s will to be done in every region of the globe.
Prayer Points
- Pray for the continued protection of Israel so that God’s purpose would be fulfilled.
- For revival to sweep across the Islamic, Buddhist, Agnostic and Hindu nations of the world so that they would know and worship the Lord & true God of Abraham.
- Bind the spirit of fear and antichrist and declare that the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ (see Rev. 11:15).
- Claim the continents of the world for the gospel and God’s kingdom, and pray for opportunities to share His love with the hurting, the poor and those who suffered loss of jobs and loved ones in our own nation and abroad.
