Intercessory Prayer Initiative
PRAYER ALERT - 10/23/2009

Dear Prayer Warriors:

So far, God's mercy on us as a nation is evident in that even with a faltering economy, we have been spared some natural disasters and predicted terrorism.  But we can't ignore the fact that in a misguided effort to "include all and offend none" we have chosen to appease men and ignore God. We turn a deaf ear to the cry of the unborn and call an abomination "holy matrimony." A nation is blessed under righteous leadership but ungodly leadership brings a reproach (Prov. 14:34). We need to pray and also give our prayer support to those standing on the frontlines working toward righteousness.  In this regard we are covering Bishop Harry R. Jackson and those working with him in the Stand4Marriage DC issue in concerted prayer.

Prayer Points

• Pray for the success of the rally "Let The People Vote" on October 25, 2009 in Washington, DC, provision for those attending, and cohesiveness among groups.
• For physical and spiritual protection for Bishop Harry Jackson, staff and family, as he presents his biblical stance on marriage and leads in this cause.
• For all those working for righteousness in this battle:  Jay Sekulow and his team at ACLJ, and Cleta Mitchell, head counsel of the Alliance Defense Fund to have a strong argument, clarity and wisdom when presenting.

Reminiscent of biblical days when the kings of Israel and Judah turned away from God to idols and paid a heavy price, the White House ignored our National Day of Prayer, but engaged in celebrating Ramadan feasts and prayers as well as the Hindu ritual of lighting the Diwali Lamp. What message does this send and what will be God's response?  Our nation is in crisis.

In response to the many emails and calls of concerned prayer warriors around the country, front line troops, Cindy Jacobs and the Generals International, are calling for a night of prayer for a nation in crisis on October 31, 2009 at Christ for the Nations Bible Institute in Dallas, Texas. The event begins at 7:00pm and they invite all who can attend to join them as they apply 2 Chronicles 7:14 and cry out to God.

Prayer Points

• Pray that this prayer event will bring down the forces of darkness holding our nation in bondage and deception, even as Martin Luther's 95 theses in 1517 were used to usher in a reformation that changed nations and history.
• Pray that God would release upon His body a spirit of repentance, humility and intercession for the soul of this nation.
• Pray for a new awakening, revival and reformation in every state so that the nation will turn back to the biblical worldview it was founded on.

The protection and support of Israel continues to be a prayer focus for us as God has promised to bless those who bless Israel.  Our nation must stand and align itself with God's purpose for Israel.

Prayer Points

• Pray that our nation and other nations will continue to recognize the need for strong action to end the Iranian nuclear threat to Israel and the rest of the world.
• Pray that Obama will not use his receipt of the Nobel Peace Prize to bring additional pressure on Israel regarding any negotiations in the Middle East.
